Heidrick & Struggles Hires MailFrontier to Protect Against Unwanted Email
Market Wire, April, 2005
MailFrontier(TM), a leader in email security, today announced Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., the world's premier provider of senior-level executive search and leadership consulting services, has selected MailFrontier Gateway(TM) Server to prevent growing email threats, such as spam, phishing and directory harvest attacks, from reaching its corporate network. Heidrick & Struggles selected MailFrontier for its industry-leading email security protection and effortless control for both employees and administrators.
With more than 1,800 active email users and millions of inbound emails each month, Heidrick & Struggles' IT department was fielding complaints from email users about spam, and struggling with an overburdened email server processing email from countless directory harvest attacks. Recently, the company also started seeing a rise in phishing emails. The IT department wanted to better protect both employees and network security, so they decided to find a new solution. It was important to find an email security solution that would block existing and emerging email threats, but was also easy to use.
"The content filtering solution we had been using couldn't keep up with new and evolving email threats -- too much was getting through to internal systems and slowing performance," said Pat LaPatra, network engineer for Heidrick & Struggles. "MailFrontier offered us the best of all worlds, including ease-of-administration, user controls to minimize employee reliance on IT, and most of all reliability. We've found 40-50 percent of our email comes from spam and DHAs. Now our email server doesn't have to process those emails, making everything work better."
The IT team was able to install MailFrontier Gateway and get it up and running in less than an hour. Since installing MailFrontier, Heidrick & Struggles' IT team has received positive feedback from end users about the effectiveness and the helpful junk summaries. "Setting it up was a breeze, and overall we've been very pleased. I hardly ever have to touch it and our users are happy. Best of all, MailFrontier is also helping us stay safe from new tricks and emerging threats -- the performance has been even better than expected," added LaPatra.
