Beloit Memorial Hospital Signs EDIS Contract With MEDHOST for Ease of Use and Proven Meditech Integration Success
Market Wire, April, 2005
In its quest to implement a powerful but easy-to- use Emergency Department Information System, Beloit Memorial Hospital signed a contract with MEDHOST for its Emergency Department Management System (EDMS) software products on March 2, 2005. Beloit Memorial, which experiences approximately 30,000 patient visits per year, will integrate MEDHOST's Tracking, Nurse Charting, and Order Entry products with its Meditech hospital information system later this year. Beloit Memorial marks MEDHOST's first contract in the state of Wisconsin.
MEDHOST, a VHA preferred supplier, was chosen over other preferred vendors for its ease of use, as well as proven successes with Meditech integration at other Emergency Departments. According to Jeannie Yowler, ED/ICU Director at Beloit Memorial, "The MEDHOST system was by far the easiest to use and most intuitive system we evaluated."
Using a try-before-you-buy approach, representatives of MEDHOST encouraged Beloit Memorial's ED staff members to interact with the system during an on- site demonstration. The nursing staff's consensus was that they loved the MEDHOST system. Dawn Pitts, RN, stated, "We want MEDHOST or nothing at all." Previous competition in the EDIS arena had been courting Beloit Memorial for three years prior to MEDHOST's winning demonstration.
