Sage Software Launches Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting 2006 for Manufacturing and Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting 2006 for Distribution
Market Wire, June, 2005
Sage Software today announced the general availability of its Peachtree 2006 product line, including new versions of Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting for Manufacturing and Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting for Distribution. These products, targeted to small manufacturers and wholesale distributors, provide companies in both industries with the business management tools they need to achieve their short- and long-term goals, and are the entry step for manufacturers and distributors into the Sage Software family of products.
The two products combine manufacturing- and distribution-specific functionality with the powerful accounting tools available in Peachtree Premium Accounting to create an ideal solution for small manufacturers and distributors. New capabilities in the 2006 versions include improvements around reporting and inventory tracking as well as additional features for more efficient assembly processing.
"For small manufacturers and distributors, knowledge of inventory levels and easy access to that data is critical for managing cash flow, success, and growth," said Jim Portner, vice president of product management, Sage Software. "Peachtree Premium for Manufacturing and Peachtree Premium for Distribution help our customers to accomplish those tasks, manage cash flow and stay ahead of the game."
Some of the new features available for 2006 include:
-- Enhanced Customer and Vendor Management: Management Detail Reports and
Transaction History Reports are included for both vendors and customers, so
that companies can gain more control over their payables and receivables.
-- Enhanced Bill Of Materials (BOM) Processing: Companies can now create
and manage complex Bill of Materials (BOM) with sub-assemblies of up to 300
components,
-- Store 20 "Ship To" or "Remit To" Addresses: Shipping made simple and
accurate. With this new feature, companies can now store up to 20 addresses
for each customer or vendor.
-- More Professional Looking Forms: New designs, fonts, spacing, and
other enhancements enable creation of more professional invoices, quotes,
and other forms.
-- Extra Part Number Storage: Companies can now order and sell by vendor
part numbers in addition to their own internal numbering, if there is a
difference.
-- Rapid Access Reports: Small businesses can save time by running key
reports from the most frequently used screens such as invoicing and
purchasing.
-- Duplicate Reference Number Warning: Peachtree will warn when users try
to enter a duplicate reference number on a quote, invoice, and credit memo
or purchase order.
Providing additional time savings, new Online Banking(1) capabilities enable companies to reconcile bank accounts quickly and easily by importing bank statements into Peachtree. This integrated approach eliminates the need for double data entry and reduces error potential.
Growing companies recognize Peachtree as a powerful tool to help them manage current and future growth, and Sage Software offers the assistance they need to manage that growth. Earlier this spring, the company announced the Peachtree Third Party Add-On Program, extending the functionality of the Peachtree product line through integrated third-party solutions, such as Barcode Wizard from Wizard Business Systems. A fully integrated add-on for Peachtree Premium Accounting, Barcode Wizard helps to promote accuracy in shipping and receiving departments by providing barcode scanning capabilities. Barcode Wizard gives users the flexibility to manage physical inventory in the warehouse and update Peachtree upon returning to their workstations. Also available as an integrated Peachtree add-on is eBridge, from eBridge Software. eBridge for Peachtree helps small manufacturers and distributors achieve an EDI integration solution and compliance. It bridges the gap between information exchanged with their business partners and Peachtree. Bi-directional data synchronization is fast, automatic, and accurate, saving them time and money.
Through the Third Party Add-On Program, developers can further extend the capabilities of Peachtree through additional integrated applications, to help businesses as their needs change. As small manufacturers and distributors grow further and require additional scalability, there is also a clear migration path available for them up to the company's MAS 90, MAS 200 and MAS 500 products.
