Gartner Positions e-Security in the Leaders Quadrant in Security Information and Event Management Magic Quadrant

Market Wire, June, 2005

e-Security, the leading supplier of security information management and continuous compliance monitoring solutions, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has named e-Security to the leaders quadrant in its Security Information and Event Management Magic Quadrant for the second half, 2005. Gartner rates vendors on their ability to execute and the completeness of their vision.

According to Gartner, Inc., leaders are vendors that are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant research report also noted that leaders must demonstrate a pattern of installed-base growth by maintaining or increasing market share. Leaders must also have driven technology innovation in the market and have multiple referenceable production installations, providing proof that their solutions consistently satisfy customer requirements in large, heterogeneous environments.

"Gartner continues to recognize e-Security as a leader in bringing innovative solutions to market," said Chuck Teubner, CEO of e-Security, Inc. "Being named a leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant underscores our market momentum achieved through sales of award-winning Sentinel™ 5 and Sentinel Control Packs™ solutions. Having recently added some of the most recognized brands to our world-class customer list; e-Security is well ahead of our 2005 plan."

In addition to solution quality, customer satisfaction, and demonstrated innovation, Gartner noted the importance of accurate appraisals of project and hardware requirements and specified scalability as a key attribute for products that aggregate and correlate security information.

"e-Security's solutions-based sales approach has a reputation for accurate appraisals of project and hardware requirements during the sales process," added Mr. Teubner. "And e-Security Sentinel is based on a message bus architecture that provides flexibility and scaling for large deployments."
