EVault Introduces Compliance Solution for Securities Industry
Market Wire, June, 2005
SIA 2005 TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE -- EVault, Inc., the leading provider of secure online backup and recovery solutions, today announced the availability of a complete end-to-end technology suite to assist securities firms with compliance and data protection initiatives.
The announcement was made at the Securities Industry Association's Technology Management Conference, the annual management education program on technology for securities firms, taking place this week in New York City.
The cornerstone of the offering is the EVault Protect online backup and recovery service. EVault Protect automatically encrypts, transmits, and stores daily copies of business-critical data off-site at one of EVault's secure tier-one data centers. Lost or corrupted data can be recovered online immediately with a few mouse clicks, eliminating the hassles and headaches associated with tape-based backup and physical storage devices. With more than 3,000,000 backups and 30,000 restores to-date, EVault is the industry-leader in providing easy to implement online backup and recovery solutions.
In addition to EVault Protect, customers can take advantage of the following value-added offerings in the new product suite. These include:
-- Email Archival Services: EVault ProMail(TM) is a managed service that
captures, monitors, and archives email and instant messaging for
organizations mandated to adhere to regulatory requirements and committed
to a disaster recovery program. Customers have access to a three-year
online regulatory archive, along with sophisticated email monitoring and
search capabilities.
-- Business Continuity Planning and Monitoring: EVault's professional
services team can assist with planning for disaster recovery and business
continuity.
-- Business Continuity Plan Repository: OurEVault(TM) is a managed
service that provides an online data repository where firms can upload or
download critical files related to their business continuity plans in
accordance with NASD Rule 3510. Documents are stored in EVault's secure
data centers and can be retrieved instantly.
With the growth of data stored on computers, and the proliferation of SEC, NASD and Congressional regulations governing the confidentiality and retention of investor records, it is mandatory that securities firms have a reliable data protection and business continuity strategy. Thousands of financial and professional services firms rely on EVault's easy-to-use secure solutions to protect their critical customer and operational data.
"EVault's data protection solution has been an invaluable service for my business," said David Welty, president, Retirement Asset Management LLC. "In addition to storing important operational data, I depend on EVault to back up my entire customer database. My client and prospect data is the lifeblood of my business. EVault's online backup and recovery service gives me the peace of mind to know that I will be able to get my business up and running quickly after any data loss."
Pricing and Availability
EVault solutions can be installed on existing server and network infrastructure.
Additional EVault solutions are priced monthly and are based on the amount of storage used per month and the length of service contract. Additionally, a licensed software solution is available for larger multi-office enterprise accounts (250 gigabytes) that desire to manage their backup and compliance operations in house.
EVault's products and managed services are available directly from EVault or through authorized resellers.
