After Wednesday's Bell Market Commentary

On Wednesday, sales of new homes shot up to a record high in July, while U.S. factories saw orders for costly manufactured goods drop by the largest amount in 18 months. Crude oil prices surged to a new record of $67.32 sending the markets tumbling. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 84.71, or 0.81 percent, to 10,434.87. The Nasdaq composite index dropped 8.34, or 0.39 percent, to 2,128.91. The Standard & Poor's 500 lost 7.98, or 0.65 percent, to 1,209.59. The Russell 2000 held steady at 655.
