Market Wire, September, 2005
Omniture, the largest and fastest-growing provider of on-demand Web analytics, and salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), the global leader in on-demand customer relationship management (CRM), today announced the availability of SiteCatalyst for AppExchange. Built on salesforce.com's Appforce on-demand platform, SiteCatalyst for AppExchange is available immediately for preview in the AppExchange, and will be generally available at the same time as the Salesforce Winter '06 release. Using SiteCatalyst for AppExchange, organizations are equipped to improve their marketing and sales success by creating a unified view of marketing and sales performance as well as delivering critical data about prospect qualification. In addition, as an Appforce certified application, Omniture's solution has been reviewed and approved by salesforce.com, giving joint customers confidence in the quality of the solution. SiteCatalyst for AppExchange is one of 70 launch applications that are available through AppExchange, salesforce.com's new on-demand application sharing service.
With AppExchange, salesforce.com customers now have access to new applications that bring the benefits of salesforce.com to their entire business, letting them manage and share all of their company information on-demand. Using AppExchange, companies can easily add new applications to their existing Salesforce deployments, extending their success and making the full power and creativity of the salesforce.com customer and partner community available with just a click.
SiteCatalyst for AppExchange and Appforce certification were announced today in San Francisco at Dreamforce '05, salesforce.com's third annual user and developer conference.
"Both the partnership between salesforce.com and Omniture and the availability of SiteCatalyst for Appforce allows organizations like mine to bridge the gap that has historically existed between sales and marketing departments," said Jim Sherman, Director, Direct Marketing, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). "We now have the ability to integrate sales funnel data with marketing campaign data and site behavior data in order to get our sales people to focus on the leads that are most likely to convert and our marketing people to focus on the most productive types of lead-generation campaigns."
"SiteCatalyst for AppExchange is a great example of what salesforce.com and its partners can accomplish with the advent of AppExchange," said Adam Gross, Director of Product Marketing, salesforce.com. "Salesforce.com has charted new territory with the Appforce on-demand platform that allows partners to build and deploy solutions that help extend Salesforce. With this new platform, like-minded organizations can come together to fulfill a vision of sharing all information on-demand."
SiteCatalyst for AppExchange eliminates the need for the manual process of importing or exporting data. Rather, SiteCatalyst for AppExchange reveals in-depth insight into campaign and Website activity related to the sales process by integrating lead source, sales stage and campaign data right into Salesforce. In real time, leads from specific campaigns and the individual creative elements of those campaigns (e.g., search, e-mail, banners, etc.), flow through the sales funnel.
Furthermore, SiteCatalyst for AppExchange indicates which online campaigns are generating the most qualified leads. This weaves the process of lead generation through the entire sales funnel, delineating how leads move through the various sales stages to become opportunities and closed deals, yielding a true ROI at the online campaign level.
Easily accessible through AppExchange, SiteCatalyst for AppExchange is highly flexible and capable of mapping data regardless of individual sales funnel customizations, thereby alleviating the headaches of redefining specific data formats.
"Success is achieved in large part by a clear understanding of the performance of marketing campaigns through the entire sales funnel. SiteCatalyst for AppExchange provides a straightforward means of communication between the sales and marketing departments, promoting visibility and a unified understanding of online performance," said Josh James, CEO and co-founder of Omniture. "SiteCatalyst for AppExchange not only simplifies the hand-off from marketing to sales, but also equips a sales department with the invaluable information needed to identify and analyze customer interest."
AppExchange is the world's first on-demand application sharing service. Launched at Dreamforce '05, AppExchange features dozens of pre-built applications created by salesforce.com customers and partners. AppExchange enables all of these on-demand applications to be easily shared, exchanged and installed with one click into any salesforce.com account.
