OuterBay Successfully Completes Oracle's Application Integration Initiative Validation
Market Wire, September, 2005
OuterBay, the leader in information lifecycle management (ILM) solutions for applications and databases, today announced that it has successfully completed Oracle's validation of its Application Data Management (ADM) Suite for integration with Oracle® E-Business Suite. This validation program is a part of Oracle PartnerNetwork's Application Integration Initiative. Having already achieved validation of OuterBay ADM Suite with PeopleSoft Enterprise, OuterBay is one of the first to achieve multiple validations with Oracle's application offerings.
To validate the integration of OuterBay, Oracle conducted a detailed review and approval of the ADM Suite's architectural design and executed a battery of tests across thirteen functional areas of the Oracle E-Business Suite. The Oracle integration validation shows adherence to the highest standards including transaction integrity, restartability and change management.
OuterBay ADM Suite allows customers to proactively manage Oracle E-Business Suite application data to ensure: top application performance, lower maintenance costs, transparent access to archived data and efficient long-term storage. Real-time user access to archived data using the native Oracle Forms and Reports allows enterprises to set aggressive data retention policies, and keep months, not years of data in the production environment, while meeting increasingly stringent data retention regulations and guidelines.
This integration validation provides Oracle E-Business Suite users with an on-line archive solution that enables immediate access to both current and archived data, through the same application interface. OuterBay intelligently relocates transactions in their entirety to a separate archive by leveraging Oracle's business rules for data eligibility and integrity. This ensures that data and referential integrity is maintained throughout the process and the Oracle E-Business Suite system is in a consistent state at all times. With OuterBay ADM Suite, no downtime is required.
"As an OPN Certified Partner, we're not surprised they completed the validation process so quickly," said Mark Israelsen, vice president, Applications Partnering Strategy at Oracle. "With more IT managers taking a lifecycle-based approach to managing data, our joint customers are looking for solutions like OuterBay's ADM Suite that are tightly integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite."
"Oracle has created an incredibly rigorous validation program with high standards to provide confidence and value to our joint customers," said Michael Howard, Chairman and CEO, OuterBay. "OuterBay's solutions are in production in some of the largest Oracle installations in the world. This validation gives our customers additional reassurance of our tight integration with Oracle E-Business Suite."
Oracle PartnerNetwork's Applications Integration Initiative provides Oracle customers with the confidence that there is a standards-based integration developed between Oracle applications and its partners' solutions, and the integration points have been tested and validated. This integration helps alleviate the integration headache, offers improved risk management, smoother upgrade capability, thereby leading to a lower total cost of ownership.
