Maven Networks Names Akamai President & CEO Paul Sagan to Its Board of Directors

Maven Networks, Inc., a software provider that enables media companies and brand marketers to deliver compelling broadband video experiences, today announced that Paul Sagan, president and CEO of Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM), will join Maven's board of directors effective immediately. Maven also appointed four new members to its advisory board -- executives whose insight will help Maven better harness the trends that are re-shaping broadband video on Internet-connected TVs, PCs, and portable devices.

The addition of Sagan brings another high profile visionary and seasoned operating executive to the Maven board of directors with first-hand knowledge of digital media businesses and technologies on the Internet today. Prior to Akamai, Sagan was a senior advisor to the World Economic Forum, and president and editor of new media at Time Inc., a division of Time Warner. A former broadcast journalist with three Emmy awards to his credit, Sagan served as managing editor of Time Warner's News On Demand project. He was a co-founder of Road Runner, the world's first broadband cable modem service, and Pathfinder, a pioneer in Internet advertising. Sagan also helped launch cable news channels, including New York 1 News in New York City, while serving as senior vice president of Time Warner Cable Programming.

Media Software; previously, vice president of business development at
RealNetworks;
-- Baba Shetty, managing director of Fallon Interactive, the
groundbreaking new media division of Fallon Worldwide, one of the world's
most critically acclaimed branding companies; and
-- Susan Bratton, CEO of Cendara, Inc., ad:tech chair, and former senior
vice president of sales and marketing for Excite@Home's media business.
