CEO Council Meets in Southern California to Unite Small Public Companies for SEC Government & Business Forum

Market Wire, September, 2005

The CEO Council held a meeting of smaller public companies, in Irvine, California, on Thursday, September 8, which preceded the SEC's Annual Government and Business Forum and Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Company ("Advisory Committee") Hearings, taking place on September 19 and 20 in San Francisco, California.

Sponsored by SEC Law Firm, a Los Angeles-based law firm specializing in representing smaller public companies, and Cinapsys, a leading southern California-based investor relations firm, the meeting was attended by approximately 60 individuals. The meeting included a panel discussion moderated by Steven Crane, CEO of CorpHQ, Inc. (OTC: COHQ), who is a founding director of the CEO Council, and included James A. "Drew" Connolly III, Executive Director of the CEO Council and a member of the Advisory Committee; Lance Jon Kimmel, a securities attorney with SEC Law Firm; Dean Skupen, a Senior Partner with Stonefield Josephson CPAs; and Alan D. Lewis II, the Council's National Business Director. The panel and participants discussed the regulatory costs and burdens associated with being a smaller publicly traded company, initiatives the Council should pursue, and current recommendations proposed or being developed by the Advisory Committee.

During the meeting, Mr. Crane announced that CorpHQ, which has been the primary financial supporter of the CEO Council's advocacy efforts over the past two years, donated $30,000 to the Council when it wrote off debts owed by Council to CorpHQ. Mr. Crane commented, "Our donation to the Council is a symbol of our commitment to its mission and should prompt everyone who has a stake in the future of smaller public companies to step-up to the plate and provide financial support to the CEO Council." Mr. Crane was applauded and cheered by the meetings attendees, and several committed to becoming members of the Council, in response.

The SEC Small Business Forum and Advisory Committee hearings will be held at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf, and will provide participants an opportunity to voice their wants and needs related to small business capital formation. On Monday, September 19, 2005, the SEC will be conducting a joint session of Forum participants and Advisory Committee members, along with breakout sessions with participation by members of the Advisory Committee. On Tuesday the recommendations of the Forum will be presented formally by representatives of participants in the Forum to the Advisory Committee, followed by public testimony and discussion of witness presentations and written statements before the Advisory Committee.

The CEO Council will hold a meeting of public company executives and service providers to collect their input prior to the Forum and Advisory Committee hearings on Sunday, September 18, at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf, to collect input from its constituency. The event is free to anyone interested in participating.
