Exclusive Park Plaza Towers in Mumbai (Formerly Bombay), India, Selects PLC Network Solutions to Install Its Next Generation of BPL Devices
Market Wire, October, 2005
Trimax Corporation (OTC BB: TMXO), through its wholly owned subsidiary, PLC Network Solutions, today announced that its newest generation (BPL) Broadband over Powerline devices has been selected to serve the exclusive Park Plaza Towers, located in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India.
The Park Plaza Towers in Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is one of the city's most extravagant and exclusive private resident towers within India's biggest and wealthiest city, holding a population of 18 million people making it the 3rd most populated city in the world. The average suite within its towers is priced at over $1million US. The agreement between PLC and the Park Plaza Towers initially calls for devices to be installed for a 3-month test pilot program. After a successful test period, PLC will be the exclusive provider to deploy its devices and services throughout the buildings. In addition, the agreement calls for PLC to provide Park Plaza Towers with VoIP service as well as other applications, subject to demand, such as IPTV. The Park Plaza Towers consists of 2 buildings with 18 floors and 36 units in each building. Building management has expressed an interest in contracting PLC to service other buildings within the company's portfolio of buildings so that it can offer its tenants the speed, reliability and plug-and-play convenience of BPL Internet access. PLC's new 205 mbps devices will provide The Park Plaza Towers with symmetrical upload and download speeds of 20-30 mbps -- enough to fully exploit high-bandwidth applications such as VoIP, video-on-demand and IPTV.
PLC's BPL technology uses the existing electrical wiring to deliver broadband to every electrical outlet throughout the building and can also link tenants to network printers and faxes. The installation is expected to be implemented in a matter of hours or days instead of weeks or months, and avoids the expense and disruption of tearing apart walls to run new cables.
Derek Pepler, President of PLC Network Solutions, said: "We are very excited about having the opportunity to enter the Indian market which currently holds the world's 4th largest economy and is growing at an enormous rate. This potential deployment demonstrates that PLC Network Solutions is fulfilling it's strategy of becoming an international player within the BPL Industry. We are pleased to have The Park Plaza Towers become the first building in India to have access to our new generation of 205 mbps powerline technology. The technology holds great promise as a low-cost, high-bandwidth broadband solution. PLC's technology turns the existing ubiquitous power line infrastructure into a "third wire" for delivering digital, voice and video to homes and businesses. As consumers increasingly demand economical bandwidth solutions for a range of new applications such as VOIP and IPTV, we believe there will be a real trend toward the adoption of these low-cost BPL technologies worldwide."
"We are thrilled with the potential of the technology, and are eager to see it in action. If the tests go as all parties expect then we will be more than pleased to have the devices and technology deployed within our other portfolio of buildings," stated Shashi Ranjin, Chairman of Park Plaza Towers.
