EMC Documentum is the industry-standard ECM platform for creating, managing, delivering and archiving large volumes of compliant content within and beyond the enterprise. EMC Documentum controls access to and tracks usage of documents within the repository, but a document becomes unmanaged as soon as it is retrieved, published to a web site or portal, or distributed to a partner via email. Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway enforces Documentum policies and tracks user actions on data as it travels outside of the repository and is used within native applications such as Microsoft Office, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat.
Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway offers customers a number of exclusive features that ensure consistent policy protection and deliver a seamless end-user experience. Unlike other solutions, Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway provides a single point of policy management that allows administrators to define, assign, enforce and audit content policies using their familiar Documentum management interface. Additionally, Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway supports secure collaboration, allowing users and groups to cooperate during the content development and editing process, while maintaining Documentum protection and auditing user actions. Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway also allows content users to work with protected content while offline without having to connect to a licensing server first.
"The Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway is a key addition to our industry leading Enterprise Rights Management solution," said Michael Ruffolo, president and CEO of Liquid Machines. "Customers are constantly being challenged to balance regulatory compliance against competitive pressures and partner demands to share information. Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway makes Documentum the central source of policy creation and management within and beyond their enterprise, allowing them to securely share information across their entire business value chain."
"This product is the next step in allowing Documentum customers to move beyond the Documentum Repository without security concerns," said Joseph Morray, Jr., president of Trinity Technologies. "We see application in virtually every industry, including legal, financial services, pharmaceuticals, and general corporate communications. This level of protection afforded allows secure global communication."
Liquid Machines and Trinity Technologies will demonstrate the Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway in booth # 724 at Momentum 2005, Documentum's worldwide user conference, being held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 24-27, 2005.
Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway extends the traditional scope of Documentum's ECM platform with key features and benefits:
-- Enforce Documentum Rights Outside of the Repository
The Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway works seamlessly with Documentum to
automatically enforce real-time control and monitor usage policies placed
upon data as it travels outside of the Documentum environment regardless of
where it travels or in which application it is used.
-- Unified Policy Creation and Management
The Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway's design extends Documentum policies
to provide customers a single source of policy management and creation
which allows administrators to use familiar Documentum interfaces to secure
information and reduces the need for an independent rights management
solution.
-- Audit and Log User Actions Throughout the Information Lifecycle
Using Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway adds strength to a customer's
compliance solution by continuing to monitor data usage and specific user
actions on that data (i.e. copy, paste, print, etc.) when it is checked out
of the repository. Liquid Machines feeds all document access and user
actions data directly into Documentum's native auditing reports for
complete document lifecycle tracking.
-- Integration with All Documentum interfaces
Liquid Machines Documentum Gateway integrates with all Documentum
interfaces on the version 5 platform to allow customers to ensure ease-of-
use and consistent policy protection and management capabilities.
