Red Bend Software Demonstrates Interoperability of Its OMA DM Client in Open Mobile Alliance's TestFest

Market Wire, November, 2005

Red Bend Software, the leading provider of firmware over the air (FOTA) update solutions for mobile phones, today announced that it successfully tested its OMA DM client with device management servers from several vendors, including mFormation and Synchronica. The tests were performed as part of Red Bend's participation in the most recent Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) TestFest held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The TestFest events are designed to allow member companies to test their prospective products and services against the specifications of OMA's Enabler Release program. The Red Bend OMA DM client works with any OMA DM-based server to allow mobile network operators to provision, support and update mobile devices over the air. The Red Bend OMA DM client implements the complete OMA DM 1.1.2 specification.

"Our successful completion of these interoperability tests shows our commitment to supporting this important standard," said Red Bend CEO, Yoram Salinger. "By demonstrating interoperability of our OMA DM client with DM servers from several major providers, it makes it easier for operators to implement mobile device management solutions."

"OMA's Test Fests are a critical step in removing the barriers to global user adoption by ensuring seamless application interoperability worldwide," said Howard Greenwell, director of interoperability programs at the OMA. "These working events allow us to produce better specifications, and our members like Red Bend to bring more fully interoperable products to market."
