Intradyn's ComplianceVault(TM) E-Mail Archiving Appliance Now Supports IMlogic's Instant Messaging Technology
Market Wire, November, 2005
Intradyn (www.intradyn.com), the leader in simple, affordable appliance solutions for secure, automated email archiving, said today that customers of its ComplianceVault email archiving appliance that also use IM Logic's IM Manager can now index, archive, and search instant messages (IMs) using the appliance, to better meet regulatory, e-discovery, and other internal company and best-practices requirements.
The ComplianceVault Email Archiving & Retrieval Appliance is an integrated hardware/software solution that captures all of a company's email on a continuous basis, from a virtually unlimited number of email boxes. Intradyn introduced and began shipping in early October the latest version of its archiving solution, called the "ComplianceVault06." The company was the first to introduce a simple, all-in-one appliance solution for email archiving at a cost of less than $10k more than 17 months ago, and the new version of the product takes another major step forward in simplicity and functionality.
IMlogic IM Manager is the industry's most widely deployed and trusted solution for secure IM management -- enabling organizations to control the use of public and enterprise IM for real-time communication, while ensuring compliance with legal and corporate governance policies. IM Manager seamlessly manages, secures, logs, and archives all IM traffic with certified support for public and enterprise IM networks, including AOL, MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ, IBM Lotus Instant Messaging, Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003/2005, Jabber, Reuters, Antepo, and others -- all through one integrated IM management solution.
Customers of both Intradyn and IMlogic now have the ability to deploy a fully integrated archiving and compliance solution for both email and instant messaging. They can add their IM archives to the email archives that are stored and managed with their Intradyn ComplianceVault appliance -- providing one location for ensuring records retention compliance for all electronic communications.
"Email and instant messaging are certainly both considered business records, requiring archiving, said Gary Doan, CEO of Intradyn. "Firms that use both forms of communication need a solution that captures and indexes all messages in the same system, to enable rapid search and retrieval. Our support for IMlogic's technology will enable many more firms to quickly become compliant, with a simple, in-house solution.
"We're delighted to work with Intradyn to allow joint customers to deliver a fully integrated email and IM archiving solution, said Art Gilliland, vice president of products for IMlogic. "Our combined solution provides scalable, reliable, and extensible enterprise-class electronic communications management.
Product Description
The ComplianceVault06 Email Archiving & Retrieval Appliance stores all of a company's email on both hard disk and tape -- including unalterable "WORM" tape media (write once, read many). It is now available in disk capacities up to 1TB, and capacities of up to 8 TB were just announced for Q1 availability. The ComplianceVault06 appliance works with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and virtually all IMAP or POP3 email systems. It allows companies to meet a variety of email retention needs, whether related to regulatory compliance (SEC 17a-3 and 17a-4, NASD 3110, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, etc), or simply for good business practice in electronic records management -- as relates the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act, for example. The ComplianceVault06 allows for rapid searching of all of an organization's email -- and now all its instant messaging (IM) communications as well, with the newly announced support of this technology -- to greatly improve a customer's responsiveness to either compliance audits or litigation discovery requests.
Starting at less than $10,000, the new ComplianceVault06 appliance has a much lower total cost than other solutions, whether in-house or outsourced. It is an all-in-one solution -- essentially an "archiving solution in a box -- not affecting a company's existing IT infrastructure. It can be installed and set up quickly, even by non-IT personnel. There are no additional per-user costs, license costs, or other ongoing costs (other than tape media). Unlimited technical support is provided by Intradyn at no additional charge.
