Reactivity Congratulates Aeroplan on InfoWorld 100 Award
Market Wire, November, 2005
Reactivity®, Inc., the leader in secure XML infrastructure, today announced that Aeroplan's real-time non-air reward redemption program enabled by its XML security gateway, was recently named to the 2005 InfoWorld 100. Aeroplan, a subsidiary of ACE Aviation Holdings, is Canada's premier loyalty program. The 2005 InfoWorld 100 is an annual ranking of the most innovative corporate IT solutions for its real-time non-air reward redemption program. Reactivity's XML security gateways for Web services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) are at the core of Aeroplan's program which is used by a rapidly growing membership of five million members.
Aeroplan embraced XML in 2001, and the rapid success of their loyalty program resulted in a need to securely offer a broader selection of reward offerings to increase the value of the program and accelerate revenue recognition for the company. The company needed to link existing loyalty programs systems with new retailers' systems quickly and easily without redesigning or rebuilding systems on either side. Reactivity offered a powerful package of products to create a virtual partner network without installing any technology at the partner sites. This virtual partner network exists using XML and SOAP over the public internet and Aeroplan was ready to connect third party retailers to their systems 38 days after licensing Reactivity technology. Aeroplan realized immediate cost savings and significant incremental revenues. Using Reactivity's Gateway, Aeroplan was able to achieve real-time mileage transactions, while protecting the personal information in the new application and all systems.
"To grow our business and build further member loyalty, a powerful and secure Web portal for real-time non-air reward redemption provided a significant competitive advantage making it possible to attain new levels of customer satisfaction," according to André Hébert, vice president, technology and E-Business of Aeroplan. "With five million members it is imperative that they have easy access to their accounts to maximize rewards benefits. Reactivity played a critical role in delivering a robust solution that is second-to-none in the industry and delivers powerful economic impact to our business."
The reliable and robust performance of the Reactivity XML Security Gateway enabled Aeroplan to implement additional real-time services to partners within the first month of deployment. With more than 60 partners, representing more than 100 brands and new partners joining on a regular basis, Reactivity makes it possible for new partners to be added to the real time loyalty program in less than one hour. The robustness and extensibility of the Reactivity Gateway enabled Aeroplan to implement a number of additional services for their partners and internal application developers, from real-time email unsubscribes, to migrating Web and application servers out of existing data centers knowing that they can connect to the legacy system, in real time.
"Aeroplan is a perfect example of a company that is reaping the benefits of Reactivity's products to further harness the power of secure XML-based Web services and enable their partners to completely leverage a tremendous mileage rewards program," according to Glenn Osaka, president and CEO of Reactivity. "As the industry leader, Reactivity offers enterprises such as Aeroplan the most secure, fastest and extensible XML gateways, which dramatically increase their cost savings and return on investment and allow them to deliver unparalleled levels of service to their customers, the end-users."
