Texas Petrochemicals LP Announces New Chief Financial Officer

Texas Petrochemicals LP (TPC) (OTC: TXPI), a Houston-based petrochemical company specializing in C4 hydrocarbons, today announced that it has named Ruth Dreessen to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company. Ms. Dreessen replaces Fred Pevow, who has served as the company's interim CFO since June 2004.
In this role, Ms. Dreessen will oversee all financial, accounting, investor relations and information technology functions for the company.
Ms. Dreessen brings to TPC more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership roles, specifically in the chemical industry. Prior to joining TPC, Ms. Dreessen held numerous senior positions with JP Morgan Chase & Co. (formally Chase Manhattan Corp.). Most recently, Ms. Dreessen served as the CFO and Sr. Vice President for Westlake Chemical Corporation, and served as a member of their Board of Directors. Ms. Dreessen continues to serve as a Board member and as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of Better Minerals & Aggregates, Corp.

Ms. Dreessen holds a Master's degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree from New College in Florida.
Mr. Pevow will assist Ms. Dreessen and the company to ensure a smooth transition.
