Legend Credit Inc. Launches Giftcardstoday.com Beta
Market Wire, December, 2005
Legend Credit Inc., a subsidiary of Legend Mobile Inc., (OTC BB: LGMB), today announced that the beta version of its website, www.giftcardstoday.com is now open.
Giftcardstoday.com is intended to be a portal for secondary trading and auctioning of gift cards. Consumers can post cards that they would like to trade or sell for a small fee. It is free to buy or make offers to trade with sellers on the site.
As an early Christmas present to consumers, there is no charge to list cards from now until December 25, 2005. Beginning on December 26, the cost to sell any gift card through the site will be just $1.00.
Sales of gift cards in the United States are projected to approach $18.5 billion in 2005. Gift card sales have risen consistently in the past few years and are estimated to be up 6.6% from last year. According to ValueLink, fifty-nine percent of the American shopping public, 131 million people, has used or received a gift card in the past twelve months.
The site allows gift card holders to trade cards that don't match their exact retail preferences for cards from stores they prefer. Giftcardstoday.com users will also be able to offer their cards for cash to other visitors of the site. Ten percent of gift cards go unused by consumers who will now have the option to sell them easily and inexpensively.
Finally, the site will also serve as a sales and marketing channel for future gift cards created and marketed by Legend Credit.
