Market Wire, December, 2005
More than 65 of the telecom industry's top companies are convening at the first AdvancedTCA Summit on December 6-8 at the Wyndham Hotel in San Jose, California, to showcase the latest developments of the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture -- the new PICMG standard for telecommunications applications. Keynote speakers include Anthony Ambrose, General Manager, Communications Infrastructure Group, Intel Corporation; John Fryer, Director of Switched Platforms Operation Marketing, Motorola; John Round, Fellow of Technical Staff, Freescale Semiconductor; and John Fanelli, Vice President of Product Planning, Wind River. Full conference information is available at http://www.AdvancedTCAsummit.com.

"The AdvancedTCA Summit is the first full conference entirely devoted to this emerging PICMG telecom standard," said Dr. Lance Leventhal, AdvancedTCA Summit Program Chairperson. "A standard platform makes sense as a way to reduce development time and costs. The AdvancedTCA Summit gives industry participants an opportunity to learn from experts about whether AdvancedTCA fits their applications, how to develop systems based on it, and where the standards and the market are heading."
Conference sessions and tutorials will provide attendees with the latest information on AdvancedTCA hardware, software, interconnects, and system development. Sessions will cover switch fabrics (Ethernet, InfiniBand, RapidIO, and ASI), standards, hardware, software, Advanced MCs, power and cooling issues, shelf management, high-availability systems, backplane design, applications, and the future of AdvancedTCA. There will also be a special keynote on RapidIO, open sessions on PCI Express and middleware, and an evening beer and pizza roundtable on "What is the Key to Making AdvancedTCA Succeed?" Following are exhibitor and presenter highlights.
