Teak Technologies Successfully Demonstrates Its Deterministic Packet Switching Technology at the Power.org Symposium in Palo Alto, CA
Market Wire, December, 2005
Teak Technologies, a leading provider of theoretically optimal interconnect systems solutions, today successfully demonstrated its Deterministic Packet Switching technology at the Power.org VC symposium being held at the Sheraton Hotel in Palo Alto, CA.
"We have successfully validated our core technology and provided proof points at multiple levels. At one level, we have benchmarked and simulated the performance of our algorithms vis-à-vis those that constitute today's state-of-art. At another level, we have also developed a demonstration platform that provides empirical evidence to the results from our simulation studies," said Venkat Konda, Founder/CTO, of Teak Technologies. "We are now on course to building our first commercial product for the BladeCenter platform."
"Quality of Service (QoS) is the driver of complexity in (multimedia) switching platforms. State-of-art switching techniques are based on heuristics that have to rely on adjunct QoS algorithms to provide performance guarantees to at least a small portion of the offered traffic. Consequently, most switching platforms remain grossly over-provisioned and underutilized," said Sanjay Dua, Chief Marketing Officer at Teak Technologies. "Our patented switching methodologies simplify QoS implementation while guaranteeing performance at theoretically maximal utilization levels across all flow granularities. The benefits of our solution are readily apparent to forward-thinking OEMs who understand the central role such interconnects can play in improving the overall utilization levels of virtualized compute platforms in power- and space-constrained data centers."
