Ounce Labs and immixGroup Partner to Offer Software Security Assurance Solutions to Government Buyers via GSA Schedule
Market Wire, December, 2005
Ounce Labs, the leader in software security assurance solutions, and immixGroup(SM), Inc., a government business consulting and channel management company, today announced that the General Services Administration (GSA) has approved Ounce Labs' products for its Group 70 IT schedule. immixTechnology(SM), a subsidiary of immixGroup, will provide Ounce Labs expanded access to government agencies that rely on GSA schedules as their preferred procurement vehicles.
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which is responsible for developing application security guidelines and auditing Department of Defense information systems, was an early customer win for the Ounce Labs and immixGroup partnership. Ounce Labs' products help government customers like DISA, the US NAVY, and GSA analyze software source code to measure vulnerability levels, pinpoint and fix security flaws, and demonstrate compliance with security standards.
"Government organizations are required by several important regulations to certify the security of their applications," said Art Richer, senior vice president of immixGroup, Inc., and president of immixTechnology. "Ounce Labs has proven technology that is helping a number of agencies dramatically increase their ability to assess the security of applications during development, acquisition, and deployment."
"Demand for software security assurance has grown steadily due to increasing threats of targeted cyber attacks," said Michelle Dickey, VP of Federal Sales for Ounce Labs. "Most of the software put into practice today has not been analyzed for software vulnerabilities, and this is compounded by the increased use of outsourced and off-shore development. immixGroup understands these issues and has been a valuable partner enabling us to reach more government agencies with our solutions."
immixTechnology was ranked among the Top 50 GSA Schedule 70 Contractors by Federal Computer Week, with revenue nearly doubling in 2004. Through its GSA FSS IT Schedule, contract number GS-35F-0330J, immixTechnology provides the government an easy to use contract vehicle that offers advanced leading technologies. GSA secures the buildings, products, services, technology and other workplace essentials federal agencies need. GSA supports over one million federal workers located in 8,000 government-owned and leased buildings in 2,000 U.S. communities and overseas. The GSA's Schedule 70 includes nearly all of the information technology products and services pre-approved for government purchase.
