GPS Industries Highlighted at the CES in the Microsoft Mobile and Embedded Devices Showcase
Market Wire, January, 2006
GPS Industries Inc. (OTC BB: GPSN), a leading innovator of Wi-Fi and GPS-enabled multimedia communications and management solutions for golf facilities, resorts, sporting events and residential communities, is pleased to announce that the company was prominently featured as part of the Microsoft Mobile and Embedded Devices showcase at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The company's flagship product, the "Inforemer," was featured at the Microsoft Mobile and Embedded Devices booth during the entire 2006 CES show. The product was also featured in the Microsoft Meeting Suite at the Hilton Hotel during the duration of the event.
Says company CEO and President Robert Silzer, Sr.: "We are thankful to Microsoft for recognizing our groundbreaking technology as an industry innovator, and we are very proud they have made us both MS Certified and Microsoft Award Winning, and part of their Embedded Device Showcase Program. We have been seeing a lot of excitement among industry professionals about our product, and this trend is growing every week. Our recent staff additions and worldwide patents on this technology have us ideally positioned for tremendous growth in 2006."
Further highlighting the one-of-a-kind abilities and value of this innovative and unique GPS / Wi-Fi product, the "Inforemer" was also demonstrated at the "Digital Experience," a press-only event that took place right after the CES keynote speech by Microsoft Corp. Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates on Wednesday, January 4, 2006.
GPS Industries believes the recent ruling by the golf world's two governing bodies (the USGA and R&A) allowing distance measuring technology in professional tournaments will open the floodgate to industry acceptance of their GPS / Wi-Fi products. As the only GPS system offering Wi-Fi Internet enhancements and unique add-ons like wireless security cameras, wireless food and beverage orders and streaming real-time video content including revenue generating streaming video advertising content, along with strategic partnerships with Microsoft, CBS Sportsline, legendary golfer Greg Norman, and distributor partners covering the entire globe, the company believes it is ideally positioned to become the industry leader as this new technology gains acceptance and proliferates.
