Aventail's Smart SSL VPN Secures Two Finalist Nominations for the 2006 SC Magazine Awards
Market Wire, February, 2006
Leading SSL VPN technology company Aventail (www.aventail.com) has secured two finalist nominations for the 2006 SC Magazine Awards (http://www.scawards.com/us-finalists.asp). Aventail's Smart SSL VPN was nominated for Best SSL VPN and Best Healthcare Security Solution. This is the fourth consecutive year that Aventail has been selected as a finalist for the SC Magazine Awards. The company's SSL VPN appliance was also named Best VPN by SC Magazine in 2004.
Finalists were determined by an independent panel of judges, which included both networking and security industry experts. While specific criteria were not released, Aventail's technology leadership and deep experience in delivering secure access solutions and its strong customer base in the healthcare industry were instrumental to its finalist status.
"SC Magazine is one of the security industry's leading publications and is well respected by security professionals across North America, Europe, and Asia. We are honored that these industry experts have recognized Aventail's SSL VPN as a finalist in two top categories," said Sarah Daniels, vice president of marketing and product management, Aventail.
The Aventail Smart SSL VPN provides clientless secure remote access to critical applications and data for employees, customers, and partners from virtually anywhere on any device. Specifically, healthcare providers using the Aventail SSL VPN are able to deliver better patient care, attract quality physicians, comply with government regulations, and reduce administrative costs.
"As a former healthcare IT executive, I believe Aventail's SSL VPN technology is a no brainer for any healthcare provider that wants to provide secure remote access the right way," said Joe Brisson, healthcare practice leader from the PSC Group, a professional services consulting firm.
The SC Magazine awards are the security industry's largest and most respected awards. The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at the RSA Conference at the Fairmont, San Jose on February 14, 2006.
SC Awards 2006
With over 1,300 product and service nominations from over 330 competing companies globally, the SC Awards are the world's leading awards program for the information security industry. The SC Awards program spans US, Asia, and UK. The SC Awards are composed of both the Reader Trust Technology Awards -- voted on by SC readers in each region and the SC Awards Council, a group of carefully selected senior CSOs -- and the Professional Awards that are judged by a panel of the industry's top talents.
Recognizing technical excellence and professional achievement across a variety of different categories, the SC Awards is a truly unique program developed to bring attention to the industry's top products and highlight the professionals that have both created them and use them within their companies. These industry achievements are acknowledged during the exciting US Awards ceremony taking place this year at the Fairmont, San Jose on February 14th, 2006.
