iSoft Positioned in Visionaries Quadrant in Top Analyst Firm's B2B Gateway Magic Quadrant
Market Wire, March, 2006
iSoft Corporation ( www.isoft.com ), a leading provider of secure file transfer and B2B gateway solutions, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the visionaries quadrant in the Magic Quadrant for B2B Gateway Providers, 1Q06(1). In the Magic Quadrant assessment, Gartner positioned visionaries in the quadrant based on a company's ability to execute and its completeness of vision.
According to the Gartner report, "Visionaries understand the market and customer requirements well, but have fewer assets available or committed to the pursuit of this particular market than the leaders. Specific to the B2B Gateway market, the vendors in this quadrant offer the functionality requirements often requested by Type 'A' companies such as integrated service environments, enterprise service buses and support for advanced Web services. However, many of these vendors compete in multiple markets, trying to balance and juggle both resources and marketing messages."
According to the report, "B2B Gateways continue to be in high demand from organizations of every size regardless of industry expertise. Vendors have expanded the functionality of the B2B Gateway from primarily providing a means to consolidate and centralize a company's B2B communications, regardless of the size and type of data, to providing some internal integration and providing an infrastructure for service interactions between partners...what makes this particular market 'a market' is that the users are specifically looking for technology that enables them to manage all aspects of the collaboration effort in a way that is abstracted from other parts of their infrastructure."
In order to be considered for placement in the Magic Quadrant for B2B Gateway Providers, 1Q06, a vendor must meet the following criteria:
-- Be sold and deployed as a standalone application(s) (separate SKU)
with trading partner management (TPM), security, transformation, management
and adapters that allow users to consolidate and effectively manage all
aspects of B2B interactions.
-- Deployed heterogeneously in conjunction with 3rd party applications,
middleware and/or operating systems.
-- Allow users the option of using two or more B2B protocols and security
mechanisms to connect to multiple trading partners (e.g. standalone AS2
solutions or custom adapters that only allow connections to one application
or trading partner were not considered in this evaluation).
"We believe iSoft's placement in Gartner's B2B Gateway Visionaries quadrant confirms our market strength and the maturity of our product," said Roy Hogsed, president and CEO of iSoft Corporation. "We feel that this also confirms our commitment to provide customers with strategic B2B solutions that not only address their specific requirements, but provide an innovative business solution as customers continue to upgrade and augment their existing environments."
