IBM Enters IT Infrastructure Services Agreement With Nissan

Market Wire, March, 2006

IBM today announced an IT infrastructure outsourcing agreement covering Nissan's operations in the US and Canada. This initiative extends a relationship between the two companies that began in 1999 and establishes an on-demand infrastructure services model for Nissan business units.

Under the terms of this agreement, IBM will provide comprehensive IT system and network services support for Nissan across North America. This will include data center, help desk, dealer systems and desktop services. In addition, as part of this agreement, Nissan will migrate to new IBM server and equipment platforms. IBM will leverage its global network of delivery centers on this project, providing services from both its San Paulo, Brazil, and Bangalore, India, locations. It is one of the first initiatives to deploy global resources from multiple locations for managed infrastructure services.

"This new contract with Nissan is the latest initiative in a six-year relationship between the two companies, which has seen IBM operate a comprehensive IT management system for Nissan," said Tom Ruch, vice president, IBM Information Technology Services. "This new initiative will provide Nissan a managed infrastructure solution that leverages IBM's global network of delivery centers."

"We are excited to extend our relationship with IBM, which will greatly enhance Nissan's IT infrastructure and will leverage IBM's global delivery capabilities," said Bob Greenberg, chief information officer, Nissan North America Inc.
