Former CVS Executive Joins Vue Technology Advisory Board
Market Wire, March, 2006
Vue Technology, Inc., the only company to offer ROI-driven, item-level RFID solutions, today announced the appointment of Jack DeAlmo, former vice president of inventory and merchandise operations for CVS Corporation, as Vue Technology's newest advisory board member. DeAlmo joins the Vue team to offer his expertise and leadership as the company rolls out its TrueVUE(TM) RFID Platform, providing manufacturers and retailers with unprecedented visibility into inventory levels, location and authenticity while removing prohibitive cost barriers previously associated with item-level RFID.
"Jack is well-respected in the industry and brings with him a wealth of experience," said Robert Locke, president and CEO of Vue Technology. "In addition, he has an intimate knowledge of EPCglobal standards. His long-standing tenure with EPCglobal makes him an ideal fit for Vue, and we look forward to tapping into his experience and leadership skills as we move towards our goal of making the TrueVUE platform the industry standard for item-level RFID."
DeAlmo was with CVS for 27 years and held key positions throughout the organization including store operations, field operations, loss prevention, information systems and merchandising . He was also a member of the Business Steering Committee of EPCglobal and served as a Tri-Chair for the Health Care and Life Sciences Business Action Group (HLS BAG) from its inception to when he retired in late 2005. Under his leadership, the HLS BAG promoted the adoption of RFID and EPC technology within the healthcare supply chain. DeAlmo holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island and serves on the President's Advisory Council at the university.
"My time with CVS and EPCglobal has given me a unique perspective into what steps the retail industry needs to take to deliver on the promise of RFID," said Jack DeAlmo. "Vue's platform is an outstanding solution that enables retailers to cost-effectively reap the benefits of item-level RFID, giving them the potential to create real value for retailers when they approach RFID projects."
