AtHoc Appoints Major General (Ret.) George W. Norwood to Its Strategic Advisory Board

Market Wire, March, 2006

AtHoc, Inc. today announced the appointment of Major General (USAF, Ret) George W. "Nordie" Norwood to the company's strategic advisory board. General Norwood will provide counsel to the AtHoc management team as the company rapidly expands its presence in the U.S. Air Force as well as in other organizations throughout the Department of Defense (DoD).

Numerous military customers, including installations in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and U.S. Strategic Command, have already selected AtHoc as the vendor of choice for their network-centric emergency warning systems. AtHoc's products are used to improve emergency response and increase force protection throughout military installations.

With the pace of product adoption accelerating, AtHoc welcomes the leadership and depth of military knowledge General Norwood offers. General Norwood will provide guidance to AtHoc related to the DoD's need for force protection and emergency communications -- guidance that will help ensure AtHoc products directly correlate to DoD's needs. He will also help facilitate strategic alliances in order to extend AtHoc's reach throughout the Services.

"AtHoc presents an exciting opportunity," stated General Norwood. "The company's offering is well suited to help warn and protect our troops in times of threat. Every military leader views protecting personnel as one of the highest priorities of any mission, and this priority remains a very personal cause for me. AtHoc provides net-centric capabilities that significantly improve our military's ability to instantly and reliably communicate emergency information to their personnel. I'm pleased to be associated with the AtHoc team, and I think we can do some important work together that will have material impact on our military and national emergency preparedness."

"General Norwood brings a wealth of experience that can only be gained through a lifetime of distinguished military service," said Guy Miasnik, president and CEO of AtHoc. "We're honored to have Nordie's leadership and counsel. We look forward to learning how best to serve the interests of the U.S. military -- in terms of who would best benefit from our offering, and as importantly, how we can continue to evolve our product line to meet the real-world emergency alerting requirements inherent in military operations."

Over his long career in the U.S. Air Force, General Norwood was a tactical fighter pilot and Air Force officer, planner and leader, serving in posts throughout Europe and Asia. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff for the United Nations Command and United States Forces in Korea. In this role, General Norwood was responsible for the critical general officer level negotiations with the North Korean military. He was also Commander of the 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa Air Base in Japan where he was the senior US Military Member in Northern Japan.

Since retiring from the Air Force, General Norwood has served in a variety of civilian roles. He was the executive vice president of the Air Force Association in Florida, and is on the Board of Directors for the Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) and for Scalable Network Technologies. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for Group W. In addition he is President and CEO of Norwood & Associates, Inc.
