TCS Launches Enhanced Messaging Solution for Mobile Virtual Network Operators
Market Wire, April, 2006
CTIA - Booth 1635 -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a leading provider of mission critical wireless communications, today announced the availability of its Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) messaging solution. TCS' feature-rich MVNO application is designed to help carriers and data-centric MVNOs deploy enhanced messaging services. The application provides a branded consumer messaging portal and supports e-mail-to-mobile messaging.
The TCS solution maximizes economies of scale achieved with a common platform and provides a proven mechanism for carriers and MVNOs to showcase their unique brand identities. With TCS' MVNO solution, carriers are able to provide a full suite of messaging services to their subscribers while simultaneously enabling MVNOs to build innovative, branded mobile content and services.
The MVNO solution is based on TCS' patented Wireless Messaging Gateway (WMG) platform. TCS' messaging portal reinforces the MVNO branding while providing subscribers with the ability to personalize their messaging experiences. From this portal, subscribers have access to community messaging, personalized alerts and control over spam. By adding the Single-Sign-On (SSO) capability, the MVNO can provide subscribers with seamless, secure access to other content partner sites. TCS' WMG facilitates delivery of text messages, e-mails, alerts and other multimedia content to wireless devices from a variety of sources, driving increased messaging revenue. TCS' consumer-branded messaging applications currently are used within United States' carrier networks that service over 50 million subscribers.
"TCS is driving next-generation wireless services with advanced messaging features that enable our carrier and MVNO customers to realize additional revenues from their MVNO partners," said Drew Morin, Chief Technology Officer for TCS. "A wealth of specialized messaging applications is viable with our MVNO-branded offerings. These differentiated services not only provide opportunities to drive revenue growth, but also to further enhance consumer awareness of the brand experience."
TCS will demonstrate the MVNO solution in its booth, number 1635, at Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) Wireless 2006, the wireless industry's largest international tradeshow.
