Symantec Consulting Services Delivers Expanded Service Offerings for Data Center Foundation to Address Key Customer Initiatives

Symantec Vision 2006 -- Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced a framework of new and existing Symantec Consulting Service offerings to support the Symantec Data Center Foundation, an integrated solution that enables enterprises to standardize on a consistent software infrastructure across heterogeneous application, database, server and storage platforms, also announced today. The portfolio of consulting services addresses the key business objectives of today's enterprise customers of enabling protection, standardization, IT service management and optimization of the data center. This is the most comprehensive portfolio of consulting services for a product suite Symantec has ever offered.
Symantec's dedicated team of consultants worldwide will provide unique advisory and enablement expertise across the Symantec Data Center Foundation technologies to further enable customers to maximize the benefits of the product suite. In addition, Symantec Consulting Services will further augment customer opportunities to optimize the data center beyond the product capabilities through custom programs tailored to individual business needs, including a full service expert residency program for onsite management of critical data center operations.

-- Protection -- Symantec will offer a new Data Center Risk Assessment
Service that complements its established Business Continuity, Disaster
Recovery; Information Security and Compliance Services to help customers
identify and manage risks associated with the data center. In addition,
Symantec's Critical Application Availability Services help businesses
maintain high availability of mission-critical business applications
including Oracle, Java, Exchange and SAP.
-- Standardization -- Symantec will offer a new Data Center
Standardization Assessment Service that enables IT organizations to rapidly
identify the savings from standardizing their software infrastructure. In
addition, Symantec Consulting Services provides enablement services for all
components of the Symantec Data Center Foundation.
-- Enabling IT Service Management -- Symantec will offer new Data Center
Re-engineering Services to include ITIL Process Design and services that
enable centralized server and storage management and automation, service
level definition and management/architecture design and configuration and
asset management.
-- Optimization -- Symantec will offer a new suite of customized service
capabilities to address storage, server and data center migration and
consolidation and tiered storage.

Availability
