Welcome's XLS to Spur Growth at National Bank of Greece
Market Wire, May, 2006
Welcome announced today that National Bank of Greece (NBG) has chosen Welcome's XLS solution to boost their GO NATIONAL payment card launch in Greece.
GO NATIONAL cardholders currently enjoy instant cash back when they use their card in the GO NATIONAL network of participating merchants. In addition, the program will soon be enriched with merchant promotions such as surprise gifts, frequent shopper offers, VIP Service Vouchers, etc.
"In Greece, like in other Mediterranean countries, cash is playing a significant role and banks are struggling to encourage card usage instead. The innovative payment experience NBG is now offering to their cardholders will help them succeed in positioning the bank as a competitive institution in Greece and South East Europe," said Sylvain Croce, Welcome's area sales and marketing manager. "This is a new opportunity for Welcome to demonstrate how to maximize a bank's revenues and develop card usage in the region. The Balkans and South Eastern Europe are a natural expansion for Greek banks and National Bank of Greece will help Welcome in capitalizing on Greece's success to extend our services in the area."
Welcome leverages its current local active partnership with Printec to provide National Bank of Greece with the best support.
About Welcome
Welcome is the world's leading provider of payment software that utilizes the full capabilities of EMV standard (Europay-MasterCard-Visa) chip credit and debit cards to create a much more exciting and richer payment experience. Payment commoditization, resulting in rate wars and fee reforms, has recently been shown to cost banks five to ten times more than fraud. EMV cards without Welcome's software can only combat fraud, whereas the same cards with Welcome's software can also fight commoditization, for essentially the same cost as fraud alone. Welcome recently won 'ROI of the Year Award' from The Banker magazine. The company works with major banks and financial institutions around the world. Welcome is headquartered in Aix-en-Provence, France, with offices and R&D facilities in Singapore, London, Philadelphia and Sao Paulo. For further information visit: www.welcome-rt.com .
