VA Software Announces Management Change

VA Software Corporation (NASDAQ: LNUX), the online media, software and e-commerce leader in community-driven Open Source innovation, today announced the resignation of Kathleen McElwee, senior vice president and chief financial officer. Ms. McElwee is resigning effective June 9, 2006, to pursue an opportunity with a private, late-stage company in the consumer directed health market.
Immediately following Ms. McElwee's departure on June 9, 2006, VA Software will appoint Jeffrey Chalmers, who is currently serving as the Company's controller, as interim chief financial officer while it searches for a permanent replacement for Ms. McElwee.
