WCC Among First to Offer Inmarsat and BGAN Satellite Communications in the U.S.

Market Wire, June, 2006

World Communication Center (WCC), a leading provider of global satellite voice and data communications, is among the first to sell a full spectrum of Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) satellite telephones, networking and broadband Internet equipment, and services for use in the United States. WCC provided equipment to its customers before the Federal Trade Commission approved the service on May 15, allowing same-day access to the new service area in North America. Earlier this year , WCC introduced the technology in Europe and Africa in conjunction with Inmarsat's tiered roll-out.

"WCC continually strives to offer a complete range of satellite telecommunications products and services -- but it isn't just about the product, it's about meeting our customers' needs," states WCC President Sam Romey. "Our competitive pricing and variety of packages allow us to provide turnkey solutions for meeting communication needs anywhere on the planet, regardless of company size or requirements. Inmarsat and BGAN fill a specific niche for highly mobile communication needs on land."

As the world's first mobile communications service to provide simultaneous voice and broadband communications, BGAN enables Inmarsat product users to connect to corporate networks, surf the Internet, send text messages, check email and talk on the phone -- all at the same time.

"The BGAN offering should become highly compelling for both government and enterprise customers as these entities begin to incorporate reliable and ubiquitous mobile communications platforms for disaster management, business continuity and other adverse emergency situations in the globe today," states Jose del Rosario of NSR .

Inmarsat provides coverage to nearly the entire world's land mass; BGAN will have service availability worldwide by 2007. BGAN can transmit data globally at speeds of up to half a megabit per second virtually anywhere. WCC's BGAN product line includes the Nera WorldPro 1000 , the world's smallest portable internet satellite communications system, along with a full product range offering fast set-up, high-speed connectivity and ease of use.

"WCC's expansive line of products and service plans are designed to balance speed of connectivity, size and cost for a full-service Inmarsat solution, even offering less expensive BGAN voice- or data-only products," says Romey.

WCC offers a wide range of BGAN mobile and maritime communications products by Nera , Hughes and Thrane & Thrane starting at less than $2,200, with service plans beginning at $35 a month. Customers can choose to pay by the minute, or remain online continuously while only paying for data transmitted. To celebrate BGAN's debut in North America, WCC is offering specials including up to $1,000 in free telephone air time for the first month on any Inmarsat satellite phone through June 30, 2006.

In addition to selling and renting a full line of satellite telecommunications products and services, WCC is a value added manufacturer and entertains the possibility of custom modifications. Recent product launches include the Hot Shot Kit , a portable, self-sustaining emergency communications kit ready for use in minutes, a military docking station for Iridium's 9505 and 9505A encrypted satellite phones and a self-sustaining satellite pay phone accepting credit cards and pre-paid smart cards. Several BGAN equipment modifications are under development, with expected announcement later this year.
