Anthony V. Codianni of Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. Named Best Sales Trainer in The 2006 International Business Awards Program
Market Wire, June, 2006
Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced that Anthony V. Codianni, director of Education and Development for TABS, has won an International StevieĀ® Award in the category of Best Sales Trainer in The 2006 International Business Awards(SM) program. The International Business Awards are the only global, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace. Codianni will accept his award at a gala dinner on Monday, June 26 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Codianni received the Best International Sales Trainer distinction as a result of the successful conversion and deployment of his highly effective Special Weekly Acquisition Training (S.W.A.T.) program for use by TABS' recently acquired Latin American office equipment dealerships. Originally designed for training the company's wholly owned U.S. dealers, S.W.A.T. is a blended learning approach for TABS' newly acquired dealers that will begin selling Toshiba products exclusively upon acquisition.
As a result of Codianni's quick response to redesigning and delivering S.W.A.T. for a primarily Spanish-speaking audience, TABS was able to increase employee retention by 22 percent over international dealers who did not attend S.W.A.T. training. Additionally, the implementation of S.W.A.T. contributed to the acquired Latin American dealerships production of a 35 percent increase of TABS' total international copier purchases.
"I am thrilled to receive this Stevie Award as the International Best Sales Trainer," said Codianni. "Our entire Education and Development team has contributed to TABS' ability to make both its internal and external employees knowledge leaders within our industry. We continue to seek new training initiatives that not only position our employees for success, but further Toshiba's ability to exceed customer expectations and provide irresistible value for our products and services."
During his 21 years with TABS, Codianni has received countless industry awards for his innovative training programs, including being recognized as Best Sales Trainer in The 2005 American Business Awards(SM) program. Other awards include the American Society for Training & Development's (ASTD) BEST Award, which was received by TABS the past two consecutive years, CLO Magazine's Learning in Practice Award, the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Distance Learning Award and the Human Resources IQ / International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) CUBIC (Corporate University Best In Class) award.
Recipients of 82 2006 International Stevie Award trophies were selected from more than 700 nominations received from companies and individuals in more than 30 countries. Companies from all over the world are eligible to compete annually in The International Business Awards, and can enter in any of more than 40 categories.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected International Stevie winners from among the Finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.
"The growth in entries this year illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide," said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards, presenters of the International Business Awards. "We congratulate all of the Finalists and International Stevie Awards winners, and we look forward to honoring them for their achievements at our gala awards dinner in New York on June 26."
The International Business Awards ceremony will be videocast live worldwide by HB Group, and will be broadcast live on radio in the U.S. by the Business TalkRadio Network.
