Universal Music Special Markets and Pringles Create Unique Music Trivia Feature Printed Directly on Pringles Product to Accompany Music Download Promotions

Market Wire, July, 2006

Pringles® and Universal Music Special Markets have teamed to feature music trivia about Universal Music Group artists directly on the potato crisp snack. Utilizing proprietary technology that employs food colorings, each of 330 million crisps in 4 million cans and Snack Stacks packages of Pringles Prints(TM) will feature a question-and-answer about a selected artist beginning in July. Participating artists are The All-American Rejects, Josh Turner, Fefe Dobson, Lee Ann Womack, Julie Roberts, Sugarland, Floetry, Kaci Brown, Rihanna, Akon, Teairra Mari, Billy Currington, Hot Apple Pie, Gary Nichols, Black Buddafly and Juelz Santana. In addition, the Pringles Prints packaging will include artist names and images.

At the same time, a Pringles Web page will display one of the 16 questions-and-answers per artist as well as album cover images of the artists that link to online music retailers where consumers may purchase the album.

Said Kathy Hale, Sr. VP, Universal Music Special Markets: "This is another innovative way to help expose many of Universal's artists to music fans. Fans not only gain access to hearing the artists, but they also learn something about them."

Douwe Bergsma, Pringles North American Marketing Director, adds, "The partnership with Universal Music provides a great opportunity for Pringles to offer something special and fun to our consumers. We are always striving for partnerships that fit with Pringles' fun, great tasting snacking experience."

Examples of the music trivia questions-and-answers are:

-- What is Juelz Santana's real name? (LeRon James)
-- Where did The All-American Rejects do their early recording? (In
    Nick's bedroom)

In a simultaneous promotion, 3 million additional cans of Pringles will offer consumers the opportunity to download one free song from the complete and extensive Universal Music Group digital catalog. Consumers must purchase a specially marked can of Original, Sour Cream & Onion or Barbecue Pringles, then visit Pringles.com to register for a free download. Both promotions will run solely in the U.S. for approximately three months.
