Update: UltraStrip and Pierce Manufacturing Deliver World's First Tactical Water Filtration Truck for Use in Homeland Security, Disaster Relief and Military Applications
Market Wire, August, 2006
UltraStrip Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: USTP), the Stuart, Florida-based technology innovation company for homeland security, marine, disaster relief and defense applications, announced today that it will introduce through its wholly owned Ecosphere Systems, Inc. subsidiary, the world's first Tactical Water Filtration Truck (TWFT) designed and built through its Joint Marketing and Supply Agreement with Pierce Manufacturing, Inc. at its Annual Shareholders Meeting to be held Thursday, August 10 in Stuart, Florida. The Pierce and Ecosphere water filtration truck has been designed for disaster relief, military and homeland security agencies, including the requirements of the Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002. The TWFT is able to respond to manmade or natural disasters and clean virtually any contaminated water to meet drinking water standards. Following the annual meeting the truck will embark on a marketing trip that will demonstrate the usefulness of the vehicle to municipalities, homeland security leaders and military personnel.
Joe M. Allbaugh, former Director of FEMA during and after 9/11 and Director of UltraStrip Systems, said, "Based on my experience and response to many disaster relief efforts, I am very familiar with the need to provide clean drinking water to people following devastating events. Ecosphere's innovative mobile water filtration technology combined with Pierce's rugged, off road truck creates a unique and much needed solution to deliver water to people quickly following a disaster. We believe the Tactical Water Filtration Truck is also the answer to hydrating our troops when they are on military operations."
Jim Parker, Pierce Manufacturing's Vice President Sales, Government and Homeland Security, commented, "Last year's hurricane was the worst natural disaster our country has seen in over 100 years. We believe this truck will strengthen the ability of first responders to provide relief to victims of disasters. Pierce's leadership in homeland security products is enhanced by partnering with Ecosphere to supply a robust, off-road product to get first responders to the scene quickly to supply clean drinking water."
Mickey Donn, President of Ecosphere Systems and former 30-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department, states, "The TWFT technology is based on the Company's Mobile Emergency Filtration System that was tested and verified by the EPA through its Environmental Technology Verification Program (ETV) and Pierce Manufacturing's ability to build the best emergency response vehicles in the world. The TWFT is a six-wheel-drive, extreme off road vehicle with the ability to clean both bio-toxin-polluted waters and highly contaminated seawater. Its high ground clearance, ability to operate in up to four feet of water and traverse 60 degree slopes make it a unique first responder vehicle to supply critically needed clean water."
