The SANS Institute and LogLogic Webcast: How Log Management Is Transforming IT
Market Wire, August, 2006
WHAT: SANS Institute CEO Stephen Northcutt and Andy Lark, CMO of
LogLogic will be presenting research findings from the SANS
Institute's recently released report on the emerging market around
Log Management on August 9, 2006 in a worldwide Webcast. In the
presentation, Northcutt and Lark reveal the key trends in IT that
are making log management and intelligence a significant factor in
systems operational analytics across global enterprises.
Attendees will learn how the changes in the role of IT as a
business center in organizations is propelling log management to
the forefront of best practices in operations. The research shows
that the Global 2000 has recognized this change and is actively
courting log management as a key to running IT operations. This
presentation will offer CIOs and IT executives insight into how
they can take advantage of the shifting market by implementing a
log management strategy. Attendees will also gain a broad overview
in how to evaluate the need for log management and where to invest
valuable time and energy.
WHY: Compliance, information protection, audits, user monitoring and
risk mitigation are driving a new set of practices and policies in
IT -- all around managing log data. In fact, recent research points
to the Global 2000's continued investment in Log Management and
Intelligence (LMI), projecting double-digit growth in 2006 to
$380M. Find out why.
The SANS Institute study was developed in association with LogLogic
to capture log management trends in public and private companies
across the North American Global 2000. The study polled IT
executives across government, banking, manufacturing, healthcare
and education sectors. In February of 2006, the SANS Institute
distributed surveys to approximately 2,000 IT executive and
performed a statistical analysis of the proxy data. Results are
based on information from more than 176 public and private
companies, comprising 18% in the G200 and 82% in the G2000.
