BEW Global Announces ISO 27001 Gap Analysis Workshop

Market Wire, August, 2006

BEW Global, an Information Asset Protection and Network Security solution provider, today announced the launch of their new ISO 27001 Gap Analysis Workshop designed to quickly and cost effectively provide organizations a comprehensive overview on how their current information security policies and controls map to the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) framework.

"It is often extremely difficult to introduce Information Security Management into an organization, hindered by lack of resources, lack of time or simply the 'blank sheet of paper' syndrome. Our ISO 27001 Security Gap Analysis is designed to give information security professionals, risk managers and compliance officers the necessary kick-start in implementing ISO 27001 in the organization, whether it is for formal certification or utilizing the underlying framework to implement information security best practices within the business," said Robert Eggebrecht, Senior Partner of BEW Global. "The workshop is a consultancy service for those organizations who want to measure current, corporate information security practice against the accepted ISO 27001 best practice standards. It is relevant to organizations who are either embarking on a formal certification strategy or who want to gauge current corporate information security controls and practices against a well known, internationally recognized standard."

The ISO 27001 Gap Analysis Workshop costs are dependent on the organization's size of operations and scope of existing security framework. The Gap Analysis Workshop is being offered for $1500.00 per day and is performed by a BEW Global consultant who has successfully completed the BS7799/ISO27001 Lead Auditor course certified by BVQI.

Deliverables from the ISO 27001 Gap Analysis Workshop include a complete report that addresses areas of weakness and provides the organization with an action plan to implement the ISO 27001 framework. The Gap analysis will highlight any potential issues within the current information management systems, as well as benchmark against the standard to provide a detailed non-compliance report on your current situation and provide an accurate measurement of the length of time and amount of effort required to achieve the ISO 27001 standard.

The ISO 27001 Standard

The ISO 27001 standard is a globally recognized framework for best practices focused on network security and data protection. The standard serves as an overlay for multiple information protection regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, the EU Data Protection Directive, and many other security compliance initiatives organizations may encounter on a domestic or international basis.
