Infoblox Joins Trusted Computing Group and Contributes Expertise to Trusted Network Connect Architecture

Market Wire, September, 2006

Representing its continued commitment to support open standards-based solutions, Infoblox Inc., a developer of essential infrastructure for identity-driven networks (IDNs), today announced it has joined the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) and supports the organization's Trusted Network Connect (TNC) initiative -- an open, non-proprietary architecture that enables the application and enforcement of security requirements for endpoints connecting to the corporate network.

A leader in appliance-based solutions providing critical naming, authentication, authorization and IP management services that can help enterprises increase reliability, manageability, security and compliance, Infoblox is naturally supportive of TNC's efforts for securing network access, as well as providing a standards-based way for devices of all types to publish and subscribe to essential network identity data about network devices, users, addresses, policies and network activity. The resulting networks will be more secure and enable more granular, flexible and real-time control and visibility.

"The TNC standards ensure multi-vendor interoperability across a wide variety of endpoints, network technologies and policies," said Stephen Hanna, co-chairman for the Trusted Computing Group's TNC subgroup. "Companies like Infoblox who are committed to open standards-based architectures, and have unique network identity data expertise, understand the value in supporting industry specifications that easily enable better interoperability and collaboration within a multi-vendor network access control and endpoint integrity schema."

Infoblox's network identity appliances provide standards-based interfaces to the services used to map users, devices, IP addresses, credentials, policies and other essential network identity data. Services available on Infoblox appliances include domain name resolution (DNS), IP address assignment (DHCP), IP address management (IPAM), authentication, authorization and accounting (RADIUS), file delivery (TFTP), and others. Infoblox's approach combines the security and deployment advantages of dedicated appliances with patent-pending distributed database technology, enabling high-performance ID grids that deliver nonstop network identity services across distributed enterprise networks.

In contributing to new standards, Infoblox draws upon its extensive experience supporting multi-vendor NAC implementations that utilize the Infoblox ID Aware DHCP solution. These production deployments at large enterprises have demonstrated the benefits that accrue to customers when they can integrate best-of-breed network access control components that support open interfaces. Infoblox was especially pleased to join Trusted Network Connect and to contribute to future specifications as it will help to bring open standards to and help fuel the growth of the emerging access control market.

Stuart Bailey, founder and CTO of Infoblox, commented, "We are pleased to be working with the TCG and support TNC initiatives. Leveraging our network identity data expertise to progress a standards-based network access control initiative can only serve to help enterprises maintain consistent levels of security as they attempt to move from their anonymous networks to identity-driven networks."
