Integrigy Accelerates Government FISMA and DoD 8500.1 Compliance for Oracle

Integrigy Corporation, a provider of application security solutions and consulting, today announced availability of Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8500.1 compliance modules for its flagship auditing and vulnerability assessment tool AppSentry. Using a combination of pre-defined security policies, audits, and reports, AppSentry automates much of the Federal Government compliance effort for the Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server, and Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.

An important aspect of Federal Government compliance initiatives is implementation and adherence to recommended configuration requirements and guidelines. DoD Directive 8500.1 mandates all DoD information systems must be configured in accordance with "DoD approved security configuration guidelines." FISMA requires each Federal Government agency to develop minimally acceptable system configuration requirements and ensure compliance with the configuration requirements.

AppSentry automates the data collection, analysis, and reporting for FISMA and DoD recommended configuration guidelines and checklists. AppSentry now includes support for Defense Information Service Agency (DISA), Center for Internet Security, and Oracle Corporation security configuration checklists. The DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) for Databases, ERP packages, and Web Servers are automated by AppSentry for the Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server, and Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.
