Lehigh Technologies Achieves ISO 9001 and 14001 Certification
Market Wire, September, 2006
Lehigh Technologies LLC., a leading manufacturer of engineered rubber powder, today announced its production facility in Atlanta has achieved ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certification after attaining the global quality standards set forth for companies by the ISO, a network of national standards institutes across more than 150 countries. Lehigh uses the ISO methodology to provide its customers with consistency, quality and reliability -- key characteristics that companies demand in engineered rubber powder.
"As companies in the tire, rubber and plastics industries look to incorporate rubber powder into their manufacturing processes, it becomes critical that the quality of the rubber powder be consistent and reliable 100 percent of the time," said Anthony Cialone, Chief Operating Officer at Lehigh. "Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications ensure that we are delivering the highest quality product possible to our customers. Lehigh's operation is one of the first engineered rubber powder suppliers to streamline a focus on the quality and consistency of its rubber powder with an eye towards environmental stewardship. We are thrilled to have these certifications awarded to our manufacturing facility."
To achieve ISO certification, the Lehigh staff underwent a complicated certification process, including an audit. Under the direction of Koren Wah, Lehigh's Quality Assurance Manager, the company completed the certification process within eight months. Through its ISO 9001 certification process, Lehigh has shown product consistency in manufacturing its rubber powder, proving that rubber powder can be manufactured at large volume levels without sacrificing the quality or integrity of the product. Its ISO 14001 certification, an international standard based on the continuous improvement of environmental performances, ensures that Lehigh's rubber powder is compliant with environmental regulations.
