Ipedo Announces Support for Embarcadero ER/Studio and CA AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler
Market Wire, October, 2006
Ipedo, the performance leader in enterprise information integration software, today announced support for Embarcadero ER/Studio and CA AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler, two leading data modeling solutions. This support adds third-party data modeling capabilities to Ipedo's award-winning enterprise information integration (EII) server, allowing organizations to leverage existing logical data models in Ipedo deployments, and to document Ipedo views for use in other applications.
Data architects can now leverage the top-down modeling capabilities that ER/Studio and ERwin offer in EII deployments using Ipedo XIP. An organization's logical data models can be used to generate the corresponding structures in Ipedo. Modeling tools simply create a set of virtual tables in Ipedo, using standard SQL DDL commands, which are then used to create EII views. Companies moving to SOA can also use this capability to automate the conversion of existing relational data models to XML Web Services.
ER/Studio and ERwin can also reverse engineer views in Ipedo XIP. A set of virtual tables and views built using Ipedo's bottom-up modeling capabilities appear as standard relational tables, which ER/Studio and ERwin can read to recreate a corresponding logical data model. These models can then be shared and managed in a standard metadata repository, allowing organizations to document EII view models for re-use or compliance purposes.
"We're very pleased to announce support for the two leading products in the data modeling category -- ER/Studio and ERwin," said Nick Zhang, CEO of Ipedo. "Many of our customers have existing data models they would like to utilize in new EII deployments. Partnering with best-of-breed tools helps our customers better manage and grow their EII deployments."
Ipedo XIP is a powerful enterprise information integration (EII) platform that allows organizations to virtualize and dynamically aggregate information from disparate sources into their business intelligence, enterprise reporting, or corporate portal applications. Ipedo XIP leverages SQL and XQuery to integrate and manage information from disparate, complex data sources to enable real-time business decisions. Ipedo's novel approach treats existing corporate databases and external data flows as a single, virtual data source.
