TeleCIS is the first company to provide an SoC for the wireless market that supports both fixed and portable operations based on the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard. This chip's advanced design operates on as little as 1/10th the power of competing SoCs and supports 250% longer range in non-line of site deployment than the competition. Along with this, it delivers the smallest footprint SoC on the market.
"Green Hills Software's MULTI IDE and INTEGRITY RTOS provided our developers the ability to achieve highly compact and efficient code," said David Sumi, vice president, product management and marketing of TeleCIS. "We selected Green Hills Software, because of their strength in delivering the highest reliability, while enabling the smallest product footprint, both essential requirements for our SoC products."
With the TCW 1620 WiMAX fixed/portable SoC product TeleCIS targets terminal devices for the fixed and portable broadband wireless markets. With unmatched performance and small size, the TCW 1620 enables full nomadic portability within a WiMAX fixed network service area and brings WiMAX to portable consumer devices such as PC Cards and PDAs.
"We are pleased that TeleCIS has chosen Green Hills for the development of their ground-breaking new WiMAX SoC technology," commented Dan O'Dowd, founder and chief executive officer of Green Hills Software. "Together with our industry leading DSO solutions, TeleCIS has been able to bring their new products to market faster, at a lower cost, and with higher reliability."
TeleCIS' TCW 1620 products were initially announced in April 2006 and are being used today in product development by several customers.
