Converged Access Partners With Avnet Technology Solutions to Provide Guaranteed Application Performance for Converged Networks
Market Wire, October, 2006
Converged Access Inc., the leader in delivering guaranteed application performance control for converged VoIP, data and video applications, today announced that it has signed leading distributor Avnet Technology Solutions, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), to distribute its wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions throughout Europe. Converged Access' solutions complement Avnet's server-based computing solutions and expertise by guaranteeing bandwidth for real-time business applications, such as VoIP, while ensuring that all business-critical applications co-exist peacefully on the network and improving end-user quality of experience.
Avnet will provide Pan European distribution of Converged Access' product line through its major VAR and System Integrator partners, as well as the company's enterprise clients. Through Converged Access' complete line of Intelligent Application Performance Control Solutions, Avnet's network of partners will now be able to offer a comprehensive solution for guaranteeing application performance control for converging networks. Under terms of the agreement, Avnet and its partners will now be able to provide: the CTX 600 VoIP Accelerator for toll-quality VoIP performance, the Converged Traffic Manager (CTM ) for optimized IP application performance and WAN efficiency; the Converged Access Point (CAP), an all-in-one converged access device; and the Centralized Policy Manager (CPM) for centralized QoS policy management with adaptive adjustments to network conditions.
"Avnet's mission is to accelerate the success of our customers and team of solutions providers. We believe that Converged Access' application performance control suite will help our customers and partners deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions that solve real-business problems," said David Morris, Product Manager at Avnet Technology Solutions. "Businesses are looking for ways to capitalise on the potential of converged networks and applications, but performance and cost are key success factors. Converged Access' technology directly addresses these issues by guaranteeing application performance without requiring capital-intensive bandwidth investment."
"Converged Access' solutions allow business-critical applications to co-exist on the WAN -- a must in the growing landscape of converged networks and bandwidth-hungry applications like VoIP and videoconferencing," said Michael Poppler, VP, International Sales for Converged Access. "We look forward to working with Avnet, its partners and end-users to develop and deploy innovative convergence solutions that provide the best end-user experience for each critical application."
About the CTX 600 VoIP Accelerator
The CTX 600(TM) ensures toll quality performance with robust traffic management to protect VoIP traffic and ensure optimum use of broadband bandwidth at the lowest possible cost for SMBs and remote offices. Applications are classified at wire-speed on a per flow basis so VoIP gets top priority and guaranteed bandwidth. Other data applications like e-mail and browsing are given best effort service.
About Converged Traffic Manager
The Converged Traffic Manager(TM) (CTM) is the industry's first application-aware performance management solution to enable the toll-quality VoIP, jitter-free IP video, and business-IP response times that are crucial to enabling the lower cost and higher value of IP convergence.
The CTM integrates best-of-breed traffic monitoring, traffic management, compression and caching with advanced application layer visibility and control to assure WAN efficiency and application performance for converging IP voice, data and video applications. It is easily deployed as a seamless overlay to an existing IP network.
About the Converged Access Point (CAP)
The Converged Access Point(TM) (CAP) guarantees the best possible application performance with optimal WAN efficiency and security in an affordable solution for small/remote enterprise offices supporting business-critical data, VoIP, and IP video applications. The "all-in-one" CAP platform combines advanced traffic management, firewall, routing, VoIP gateway and Wi-Fi functions in an easy-to-deploy and operate package enabling best-in-breed integration, security and performance control.
About the Centralized Policy Manager (CPM)
The Centralized Policy Manager(TM) (CPM) enables centralized policy-setting, reporting, distribution and control of remote Converged Access devices. With the CPM, administrators can easily optimize the performance of large-scale Converged Traffic Manager (CTM) deployments.
The CPM is the only policy-based network manager to automatically and dynamically adjust QoS policies based on current network conditions. The CPM's Adaptive Policy Management monitors performance thresholds that can be set by application, location and user. Threshold alerts are then used to assess and automatically adjust policies based on real time network conditions. This unique feedback loop allows administrators to assess the effectiveness of policies and to fine-tune them as network and/or user needs dictate -- even on the fly.
