Fizzy Fruit(TM) Takes Spotlight as One of the Best New Products of 2006
Market Wire, November, 2006
Soon to debut on the national retail scene, Fizzy Fruit(TM) brand sparkling fresh fruit is already garnering headlines as Popular Science magazine awarded Fizzy Fruit the distinction as one of this year's "Best of What's New" products and technologies. Fizzy Fruit earned a spot among the top five products recognized by Popular Science for "General Innovation."
Fizzy Fruit is no ordinary fruit. A patented process infuses carbonation into the water already contained in fruit and gives the fruit a light and refreshing effervescence. Not to be mistaken for a beverage, Fizzy Fruit is sparkling fresh fruit... a whole new taste sensation. All natural Fizzy Fruit contains no preservatives or added sugars, and it has the same nutrients and fiber content as regular fresh cut fruit.
Each year, the editors of Popular Science review thousands of products in search of the top 100 technological innovations of the year. The winners -- the "Best of What's New" -- are featured in the much-anticipated December issue of Popular Science, the most widely read issue of the year since the debut of "Best of What's New" in 1987. "Best of What's New" awards are presented to 100 new products and technologies in 10 categories: Automotive, Aviation & Space, Computing, Engineering, Gadgets, General Innovation, Home Entertainment, Home Tech, Personal Health and Recreation.
"'Best of What's New' is the ultimate Popular Science accolade, representing a year's worth of work evaluating thousands of products," says Mark Jannot, editor of Popular Science. "These awards honor innovations that not only influence the way we live today, but that change the way we think about the future."
Fizzy Fruit launched in December 2005 as a popular menu item in school lunch programs across the country. Now available in select supermarkets, Fizzy Fruit will soon be available in supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide.
"The Popular Science awards highlight new fields of technological innovation that improve our lives," said Alex Espalin, chief marketing officer of The Fizzy Fruit Company. "Fizzy Fruit is an exciting new twist on fresh fruit. Borne from imagination, it reminds us of what is possible. We are especially honored to be recognized by the editors of Popular Science magazine."
