Aplix and MontaVista Software Form Strategic Alliance to Develop Software for Mobile Linux(R)

Aplix Corporation (TSE: 3727) announced today it has formed a strategic alliance with MontaVista Software Inc. to integrate MontaVista's Mobilinux products with its middleware framework on Mobile Linux®. Also, Aplix made an equity investment in MontaVista Software.
Aplix has been an active player in the development of integrated software solutions for Linux-based mobile phones using its middleware framework and MOAP® (L), the Linux platform developed for NTT DoCoMo, Inc. By teaming up with MontaVista, the leading developer of Linux applications for mobile phones, Aplix will be well positioned to provide fully integrated solutions for all chipsets supported by MontaVista, enabling its customers to improve their development efficiency as well as product functionalities. MontaVista plans to provide development kits and testing tools optimized for Aplix's middleware framework.
