StarSoft Development Labs Expands Its Leading Agile Software Development Outsourcing Practice
Market Wire, December, 2006
StarSoft Development Labs, a leading provider of offshore and near shore software development services in Russia and Eastern Europe, announced the expansion of its well-established Agile software development practice with a number of new initiatives aimed at addressing the growing market demand for Agile experts.
Today, StarSoft is launching a dedicated Agile website -- www.offshoreagile.com -- a rich information source wherein StarSoft's team of highly skilled engineers and managers share project best practices, provide freeware including the X-Man project tracking tool, and other Agile tools and lessons learned. The website is targeted to both enterprise development organizations and growth technology companies and ISVs in North America and EMEA that want to achieve higher quality, faster deployment and cost savings on their critical product and internal systems development projects.
Building on the company's 300 man-years of Agile development experience, StarSoft has also formalized an Agile consulting service offering intended to help clients leverage Agile processes, training them in specific development practices and project management methodologies, namely Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum.
In addition, StarSoft has rolled out an in-house Agile training program led by the company's experts, including PMI/PMP certified project managers, experienced XP practitioners, and a Certified Scrum Master, in order to build an even larger pool of engineers who can accommodate the increasing client demand for Agile services.
"StarSoft's Agile development approach has proven return on investment value, as realized with clients like SirsiDynix and ScriptLogic who engaged us to work in close collaboration with them to set up global distributed teams to enhance the competitiveness of their core products," said StarSoft Senior Vice President Alex Adamopoulos. "Our Agile expertise has been endorsed by leading Agile authorities like Jeff Sutherland, and we intend to continue to grow our leading market position by providing top notch, hands-on Agile services and resources."
StarSoft won its first Agile customer in 2002, a Fortune 50 computer equipment manufacturer. After over four years of continuous collaboration on internal business systems development based on XP, those systems have been rolled out globally to the company's manufacturing, sales, and accounting organizations. StarSoft's Agile clients come from a range of Fortune 500 and mid-size growth companies including CSC, Fellowes, Direct Tech and Sesame Communications.
