Danaos Corporation Takes Delivery of Three Containerships From A.P. Moller-Maersk Group

Danaos Corporation (NYSE: DAC) today announced that it has now taken delivery of all three 4,814 TEU vessels from the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group according to schedule. The Maersk Marathon, Maersk Messologi and Maersk Mytilini were delivered on December 12, 17 and 21, 2006 respectively and are already employed under five-year charters with the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group at a rate of $23,450 per vessel per day. After the initial five-year charter periods, the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group will have four consecutive one-year options to re-charter each ship for $22,400 per day, $21,400 per day, $20,400 per day and $20,400 per day respectively. The addition of these three vessels to Danaos' fleet brings the total count of its containerships to 31.
