GuestMetrics, Inc. Signs Contracts With Industry Leaders to Provide Data
Market Wire, December, 2006
Brian P. Barrett, Chief Executive Officer of GUESTMETRICS, INC. (PINKSHEETS: GESM), a software provider and data mining company for the hospitality industry, announced today it has signed contracts to provide aggregate level consumer spending data to some major companies in the hospitality industry. Stated Mr. Barrett, "This marks a ground breaking event for our company and the industry as a whole. For years, food and beverage alcohol manufacturers and suppliers have been asking for empirical data to measure consumer spending habits in restaurants, hotels, bars, etc. (on-premise). The only type of on-premise data available today on a large scale is survey driven, putting GuestMetrics in the forefront of on-premise data mining for the hospitality industry."
GuestMetrics has signed contracts to provide data to National Distributing Company, the fourth largest alcohol distributor in the U.S., as well as one of the top five winemakers worldwide. In addition, contracts were signed in the foodservice arena with the Winnie Group on behalf of the Allen Canning Company, a vegetable company that has been in business since 1926 and grows and packs vegetables under 11 respected brand names: The Allens, Butterfield, East Texas Fair, Popeye, Princella, Royal Prince, Sugary Sam, Sunshine, Trappey's, VegAll, and Wagon Master. The Idaho Potato Commission, a state agency with many responsibilities including the promotion of Idaho potatoes, has also signed an agreement to receive data from GuestMetrics. "We have always felt that Idaho potatoes have a strong menu listing brand identification at restaurants because of their popularity with operators and consumers," says Don Odiorne, Vice President of Foodservice for the Idaho Potato Commission. "This data mining of actual usage is sure to help define just how important a high velocity product like potatoes is for the food service industry. I applaud GuestMetrics' efforts in helping operators run their business with actual volume knowledge on a timely basis."
