SM&A Promotes Dick Eassom to VP of Knowledge Management

SM&A (NASDAQ: WINS), the world's leading provider of business strategy and proposal development services that enhance clients' ability to win competitive procurements, and a leading provider of program management services, today announced that it has promoted Richard Eassom to Vice President of Knowledge Management, effective December 1, 2006. In addition to his continuing responsibilities for Knowledge Management, Mr. Eassom will now be responsible for all project research and reporting.
Mr. Eassom has nearly 30 years of experience in proposal management and engineering. He joined SM&A in 1998 as a field proposal manager. He was transferred to SM&A headquarters in 1999 to work on proposal automation tools as Director of Product Development and transitioned to Director of Project Management in 2004. In 2006, he became responsible for SM&A's new Knowledge Management System (KM) software development and implementation. The system went live in August 2006.

Mr. Eassom was recently elected Chief Operating Officer of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP: www.apmp.org ) for 2007. As a function of this role, he will become Chief Executive Officer of the organization in 2008. Mr. Eassom has presented a Microsoft Word workshop at each annual conference since 2001 and has written for the Journal of the APMP. He writes a column in the APMP Perspective newsletter, "Wordman's Production Corner," in which he provides tips, techniques and tools to help the APMP membership. He was elected Secretary for the APMP National Board of Directors for 2005/6 and was inducted as an APMP Fellow on June 2004. Mr. Eassom will co-chair the 18th Annual International APMP Conference in Savannah, GA, in 2007 on behalf of SM&A, an APMP corporate sponsor.
Prior to his tenure with SM&A, Mr. Eassom served as Managing Director, Temple Consulting Ltd, in the United Kingdom. He began his career with GEC-Marconi Communications Ltd (GMCL), UK in 1977, where his most recent positions were Marketing Communications Manager and Head of Military Product Development. Mr. Eassom earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leeds, England in 1977.
