Pandora Networks Partners with D-Link to Promote Worksmart Unified Communications Services

Market Wire, January, 2007

2007 CES (Booth 31434) - Pandora Networks, a leading provider of unified communications services, has announced today that Pandora and D-Link will jointly sell D-Link hardware with Pandora's hosted communication solutions for small and medium-sized business (SMB). This permits SMBs to purchase "off-the-shelf" bundled solutions that include hardware and services that deliver a hosted IP-PBX along with unified communications applications.

The Worksmart UCX(TM), or Unified Communications Exchange, uniquely delivers a complete IP communications service that includes voice, video, messaging, and collaboration services for a fraction of the cost of other solutions. Since its release in 2005, Worksmart has received technical and customer acclaim. Technology Marketing Corporation's TMC Labs (and its publication INTERNET TELEPHONY®) named Worksmart winner of the 2005 Product of the Year Award and 2006 Internet Telephony Excellence Award.

"The combination of Worksmart and D-Link hardware delivers a total communications package for SOHO and SMB customers that can be up and running in a matter of minutes. Worksmart is not just another VoIP service, but a complete communications offering that also provides messaging, conferencing, on-line web meetings, and much more," says Pandora Networks' co-founder and CEO Walter Snell. "D-Link is a perfect partner for us since they provide all of the hardware our customers need including IP phones, Wi-Fi phones, switches, and VoIP-enabled routers."

D-Link has pre-configuring several bundled options designed for a variety of office environments. Included in the bundles will be IP phones, switches, routers, and VoIP acceleration hardware to ensure a high quality VoIP connection to Pandora Networks' Worksmart hosted service. Pandora is showcasing Worksmart with D-Link at the 2007 International CES in Las Vegas, one of the largest trade shows of the year.

"Worksmart is a good fit for our long-term marketing strategies as their solution interoperates seamlessly with our phones, routers and switches," adds D-Link's Tom Paterniti, Associate Vice President, Business Development. "Building unified communications solutions for SMBs is simplified with a single purchase that is easy to install and offers a great value. We look forward to their participation at CES and beyond as we work together to promote our respective solutions in the marketplace."

Both organizations will be selling the bundled packages through their channels. The combined packages will provide the best price/performance solution in the industry.

How to Win at Office Politics

Like it or not, every workplace is a political environment. But operating effectively within it doesn’t have to mean sucking up, lying, or slinging dirt. In its purest form, office politics is simply about getting from here to there: securing a promotion, seeing an idea come to fruition, or gaining support to make an organizational change. Playing the game well is about defending your position, earning respect, exchanging favors, and keeping your sanity amid the chaos. To get started, you need to know what you really want from work, then orient your political moves toward those goals. It all starts with strong relationships and helping others; those people in return make up the support system that helps you realize your goals. Here’s how it’s done.
