General Motors Opel and McCann Erickson Germany Settle Lawsuit With Tom Waits

Tom Waits, the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, has settled his lawsuit against Adam Opel AG and its advertising agency McCann Erickson Germany, which arose out of TV commercials for Opel aired in 2005.
Mr. Waits is donating his net settlement proceeds to charity. Of the resolution of this matter, McCann Erickson said, "We respect Mr. Waits, and deeply regret any embarrassment this may have caused."
Mr. Waits said, "I'm glad to be out of the car sales business once and for all."
